A Therapeutic Wellbeing Practitioner works creatively and relationally to promote the overall wellbeing of children, young people, families and communities. Using holistic and person-centred methods, they consider the needs and capabilities of each individual in the context of their family, school and social environment.
Therapeutic Child Counselling supports personal, social and emotional development, enhancing self-confidence, self-awareness, self-esteem, emotional literacy, communication skills, resilience, recovery and human potential. Sessions usually take place on a weekly basis for 30 - 50 mins.
Every child’s privacy and rights are respected. Information is shared with discretion within a multi-professional framework in the interests of the child for their personal growth, safeguarding and child protection. Records and reports are accessible to parents, carers and teachers with accompanying consultation where requested or required.
I am fully insured, am a Designated Safeguarding Lead and have completed an Enhanced DBS Check. As a Therapeutic Child Counsellor I abide by a strict code of ethics, conduct and practice guidance and may refer to case material in supervision. All practitioners attend regular reflective practice to monitor and evaluate their work. The anonymity of the child is always respected.
